Per their Enterprise Support, Comcast customers currently are experiencing an outage affecting large portions of the United States. Not only does the issue prevent Comcast customers from placing and receiving calls, but it also prevents the proper functioning of *72, which is necessary to forward phones to On Call Central, or any answering service. Therefore, even though On Call Central is functioning just fine, if your phone system is down and unable to pass phone traffic to us, we will not be able to pick up those calls.
Like any answering service in the world, On Call Central is dependent on a contiguous functional path between the caller and us. Once Comcast resolves their issue, you will be able to forward calls to your On Call Central number. Alternately, you can post your On Call Central phone number directly on your practice's web page and social media accounts. This will allow your callers to bypass the defective portion of the communication chain, and reach your On Call Central account directly.
